Inspiring Connections at System Change Leaders Week in Costa Rica

From September 22 – 30, 2023, I had the honor of participating in the EatThis. System Change Leaders Week in Costa Rica. This event gathered 25 international leaders in horticulture for an inspiring journey through Costa Rica’s lush landscapes.

Costa Rica’s tangible success in reversing deforestation provided the perfect backdrop for exploring system change. I was honored to be invited to share my insights, contribute to meaningful discussions and inspire a collective drive for positive change.

Our journey included a viewing of Paved Paradise, a documentary featuring my work, and visits to the cloud forests of Monteverde, the rainforest reserves of Boca Tapada, and the Caribbean lowlands of Sarapiqui. Engaging sessions, farm tours, and activities like zip lining fostered genuine connections and innovative ideas.

It was a week of deep connections—between nature, people, and a sustainable future of food production. One of the highlights for me was the opportunity to inspire young professionals in the world of food production. Their enthusiasm and innovative ideas were truly inspiring, and I felt grateful to be part of this transformative experience. This week was a testament to the power of bringing visionaries, educators, and advocates together in pursuit of a shared mission. Check here the aftermovie.
